Escape games in German language teaching

The diploma thesis deals with the phenomenon of escape rooms and their use in education. Firstly, a theoretical basis was created in which the individual components of escape rooms were elaborated in detail. Understanding all the components, their functions and the whole concept provided the opportunity to explain the applicability of escape rooms in education, specifically to outline the possibilities and limits of escape rooms. These have been described from both a technical and a pedagogical perspective. Escape rooms have been put in the context of pedagogical theory, where they have found support both in the curriculum and in other pedagogical principles. The roles of both teacher and students in this regard were characterized. The use of Escape Rooms in education was concretised in terms of foreign language teaching, explaining the possibilities offered by escape games in German language teaching. In the practical part of the thesis, an original escape game for German language teaching, Treasure in Vienna, was created. Using on-line Communication not Only in English Classes

This diploma thesis explores the possibilities of using international online communication in English lessons at the lower secondary level of elementary schools. In this case, information and communication technologies are intended to enhance the effectiveness of teaching and increase the intrinsic motivation to study the English language by providing an authentic space for communication with foreign pupils of similar age. Cross-curricular themes and interdisciplinary relationships with an emphasis on Geography play a significant role in such communication. The theoretical foundations of the international online communication are studied in the theoretical part of the thesis in order to enhance its potential in education. Key competencies, particularly digital and communicative skills, are discussed. Additionally, pedagogical and psychological aspects of the topic are explored. The practical part focuses on the specific implementation in practice, with the first objective being to prepare, test, and reflect on the activities. Educational computer game, its creation and use use teaching of thematic unit Water

The thesis deals with the creation and use of an educational computer game in teaching the thematic unit Water in the teaching of inorganic chemistry at the second level of primary schools. The aim is to convey selected knowledge to pupils in an attractive form, or to practice this knowledge, to develop inter-subject relations, to activate pupils and to strengthen their key competences by means of didactic procedure. The game story takes place in the environment of the town of Mariánské Lázně. The player is continuously introduced to the geographical and historical attractions of this location. Due to the storyline's connection to a specific location, the educational process is in line with the principles of place-based learning. The theoretical part consists of an analysis of the literature on the topic of place-based learning and STEM subjects. The acquired knowledge represents the theoretical framework of the practical part, where a description of the created game and verification of its use in pedagogical practice is presented. The research was conducted in a questionnaire form.

The bachelor thesis focuses on the creation and use of an educational computer game (click and point adventure) in teaching chemical reactions at the second level of primary schools. The aim of this project is to convey relevant knowledge to pupils in an attractive way, to develop cross-curricular relationships, their intrinsic motivation and key competences. Worksheets have been prepared to complement the game. The game is set in the well-known localities of Znojmo, whose geographical and historical attractions are introduced to the player in the course of the game.
Key competences of a nurse in extracorporeal membrane oxygenation

The aim of this thesis is to map the specifics of work in intensive care of a critically ill patient on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation and to find out what knowledge and skills an intensive care nurse caring for a critically ill patient connected to extracorporeal membrane oxygenation must have. Three research questions were established to meet the objectives: What are the key competencies of a critical care nurse in caring for a critically ill patient on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation? What activities does a critical care nurse perform in intensive care when caring for a critically ill patient on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation? What is a critical care nurse's role in a multidisciplinary team when caring for a critically ill patient on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation? The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the ECMO device itself, its history and components. It also describes the risks and complications that may occur as a result of this method. Last but not least, the necessary education and competence of nurses who can provide care for a critically ill patient on ECMO is described. A part of the thesis is also dedicated to the nursing management of care for such a patient. Qualitative research was used to achieve the objectives. The empirical part of the thesis was drawn up on the basis of semi-structured interviews with nine informants providing highly specialised nursing care for patients on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation working throughout the Czech Republic. The open coding method was used to analyse the data. Analysis of the data gave us a comprehensive view of care for patients on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation. Intensive care nurses provide comprehensive highly specialised nursing care, and it is essential that they have sufficient knowledge of the matter and the ability to work collaboratively in a team. The output of the thesis is a manual with basic information for nurses who encounter extracorporeal membrane oxygenation for the first time.
Educational computer game, its creation and use in teaching geochemistry

This diploma thesis is focused on the creation and use of educational computer games in teaching geochemistry at the second grade of primary school. The aim of this game is to pass on appropriate knowledge to students in an attractive way, to develop interdisciplinary relations, their internal motivation and key competences. The game is localized in well-known places of Šumava and the player is informed about its local geographical and historical attractions. The theoretical part is based on analysis of professional literature. Findings of this analysis are the theoretical framework of knowledge for the following practical part, in which the educational game is created and verified in practice. The research was conducted online and its results are discussed in the final part of the work. Based on the feedback from the students, possible modifications of the test version of the game were suggested.
Study abroad as an opportunity to personal and professional development of future teacher

(English) This thesis is about a role that a study abroad can have for a future teacher. It researches which areas of professional preparation can be most affected by studying abroad and how this experience can contribute to a growth on a personal level. The theoretic part describes studying abroad, with a primary focus on Erasmus+ for pre-gradual students of primary school education. The second chapter argues the phases of gaining pedagogical profession and a possible effect of the abroad study on them. It focuses mainly on the effects on professional growth of a student. The last chapter of theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the effect of an abroad study on the growth of pedagogical persona including the gains to the key competences. The practical part is a mixed research, with the goal of discovering how studying abroad can help the future teachers grow in the areas of personal and professional competences. Factors affecting an improvement of chosen pupils during the on-line education

In the time of the anti-epidemic measure were in person classes substituted by on-line classes. The aim of this thesis is to point out pupils who benefited from the on-line education with their grades as well as concentration, motivation and other key competences. The theoretical part is dedicated to the on-line education issues and comparison of in person and on-line form of education. There is a description of three fazes of school closings (Spring 2020, Autumn 2020, January - April 2021). It applies to parts of the climate in the classroom especially the intrusive aspects and their influence on the classwork and concentration. As well as pupil's personality and the effect of the change of the parenting style for the child's development. One chapter is dedicated to the development of key competences in the time of the on-line education. Then there is described the issue of the overloading of children with afterschool activities on their overall development and learning. Youth literature as a tool for development of key competences at high school

The submitted diploma thesis is concerned with the development of key competencies in literary education at the 2nd level of elementary school. The aim of the first part is to approach the form of pubescent reading with the help of professional literature, to outline the current concept of literary education, which is based on the framework educational program, and to present specific approaches to teaching literature corresponding to the concept. Other parts of the work will discuss key competencies, their grappling in the FEP ZV and their possible evaluation in school practice. Social, personal and civic competences will be analysed in more detail and the possibilities of their development through a literary text in the subject Literary Education will be presented. Further we will focus on contemporary Czech and foreign literary production for children and youth, where epic genres with the theme of social disadvantage will be placed in the centre of attention. Here a list of book titles with a short annotation according to the relevant topic will be offered.
